okay, i think i need to break the rules a little & let you know about this photo, haha. during my trip to kansas city, my brother & i celebrated our birthdays at an italian restaurant, buca di beppo. when it is your birthday, they serve you huge cupcakes & sing happy birthday to you. it is so much fun! & when my mom snapped this photo, my brother & i made the same exact face, which totally makes me laugh.
& also reminds me that i miss my family a lot. seven hours & many miles between, i think about them all of the time. i guess you could say i am a little homesick. turning 21 & getting married are both huge reminders that you’re not a little girl anymore. still, there’s nothing like family. this photo really reminds me of that.

i am in a “rare form” this morning { i really like that phrase}.
perhaps it is the chocolate brownie i had for breakfast?
or getting a decent amount of sleep last night?
or maybe i am just really excited to spend some time with friends this morning?
whatever the case may be, i am feeling a bit scattered, pretty antsy & incredibly inspired this morning.
last night, luke & i enjoyed our tuesday date night. we both had pretty long days yesterday so we just wanted to take it easy & relax with one another. we picked up chinese take-out, curled up on the couch with a beer & had really great conversation. afterward, we worked on some art projects & i made brownies with {this} recipe. so delicious!
luke spent some time working on my birthday invitation {see above} & i could not be more excited! he is planning, coordinating & decorating. gosh, he is so thoughtful & i am so lucky to be his wife. i am truly blessed!
also, my {best friend} is coming into town for my birthday party weekend!
so many things to look forward to!

my parents are coming into town tonight for a three-person birthday celebration. today is my brother’s birthday {happy birthday, j.o.}!! last month my mom had a birthday & mine is coming up soon. we’re celebrating with good food & a bit of exploring around kansas city. a perfect way to end spring break, i think.
