loving lately list

yesterday i had my wisdom teeth removed. i’m living on pudding & popsicles, y’all.
so instead of sharing the grotesque details of my war-torn mouth, i thought i’d share my loving lately list: a list of all things i am totally loving right now! yay!
1. wearing fake glasses. also take note: my heart to-go cup from my loving husband (he gets me).
2. twinkle lights everywhere… inspired by my dear friend, d’wana & her oh so cozy studio in the woods.
3. rainbow tassel necklaces made by my lovely friend, hannah!! and part of the proceeds benefit a family in africa! i want one in every color, please.
4. speaking of tassels, i just purchased this dress on mega sale. yay!
5. “our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy” – here

6. soaking up every page of “where’d you go, bernadette.” love love love!

7. making happy swag for february’s whatever craft weekend. yay!
8. freaking out over this gold polka dot door. yes, please!

9. dreaming of spring & all of the colors & porch plants & chippy furniture & sunny warm days! thanks for the lovely scene, shannan

our europe adventure: travel plans

friends, we’re adventuring in europe this summer!
thanks to a generous gift from my dear in-laws & months of saving our pennies, we’ve finally budgeted just enough to travel throughout europe this summer! after tons of research, we’ve finalized our travel & i am so excited to share our plans with you today!
our 2015 european adventure
– geneva, switzerland & surrounding areas
– paris, france
– berlin, germany
– cinque terre, italy & “the five lands”
– florence, italy
– rome, italy

some tips we’ve learned along the way:

1. we chose to book mini flights via easy jet instead of purchasing a train pass. this saved us a considerable amount of money & time.
2. we’re opting out of hotels. instead we’re staying in cozy, centralized apartments & european guest houses booked through airbnb. airbnb is an incredible resource that allowed us to save money while also connecting with locals in the areas. i cannot wait to meet our fun hosts!

friends, have you been to these areas? are you familiar with switzerland, germany, france & italy? we’d love your recommendations on good food, beautiful sites & more within the places listed above!
love,
natalie

valentine’s day gift ideas for under $10

i love valentine’s day.
i love the flowers & the mushy cards. i get all weepy over the jewelry commercials & i eat my weight in chocolate.
there. i said it.

so naturally, all of my people get valentine’s day gifts, including some of my best gal pals & my nephew.
today, in the spirit of giving & love, i thought i’d share some fun & inexpensive ideas for loving on your people during valentine’s day!

i picked up these cards from my girl katy of katygirl designs. the buffalo check & witty sayings inspired me to make some cuteness for my girlfriends & the special littles in my life!

i paired katy’s “you’re just my type” card with journals from katie daisy that i picked up at target. i added a pen from the dollar bin at target, some sparkly heart stickers & one of my happy flags! i simply tied up the goodies with fabric ribbon & now i have two bundles ready for gifting! yay!
here’s the breakdown in cost:
card: $2.50
notebook: about $3 each (similar design)
pen: 50 cents each
—–
total cost: $6 per gift
confession: i’ve never watched star wars…
but! my husband is a star wars addict (i’m not sure why he married me). his parents even named him after luke skywalker, people. so although i haven’t joined the star wars cool club, i do appreciate the star wars references.

i found the “yoda only one for me” card from katy’s shop & paired it with the star wars light saber m&m candy dispenser from hobby lobby. i made a little “may the force be with you!” tag & tied it with fabric ribbon!
kiddo approved, y’all! yay!
here’s the breakdown in cost:
card: $2.50
star wars light saber candy dispenser (including 40% off hobby lobby coupon): $3
——
total cost: $5.50
& if you’re in need of a gift idea for your main squeeze, above is a fun gift idea i made for my hubby a couple of years ago for just $1. here’s the link! enjoy!
what are some fun valentine’s day gifts you plan to make this year? please share!
love,
natalie
