I do not see how one could live life without truly being in love with nature. To me, no artist, no poet, no writer could ever paint, create, or compose something as beautiful or perfectly imperfect or timeless as a flower in bloom or a soft rock on the waters or the deep red of clay mud. Noticing the changing of seasons is most exciting. I believe that our lives, our cycles, truly reflect the process of seasons. It is all so connected, so intertwined. I feel most at peace in nature. A short hike, skipping stones, collecting changing-colored leaves; I always feel content.
It was very cold, rainy, & misty. But- oh so beautiful.
We found many treasures- an old bridge down a dirt road with orchards in bloom, a piece of driftwood discovered by the kids to look like an eel!, a small path leading to the water, smiling faces & cold feet, a small skeleton still intact, & the familiar browns & tans from winter.
I have many more photos to share with you. I hope you don’t mind…
It’s so cold here. I’ve been surviving with wool socks, hot green tea, & lots of blankets. In the spirit of hopefulness for warmer temperatures & spring, I thought I would post these pictures from my mom’s birthday bouquet.

In other news, I am so thankful to be back to blogging & writing. Spring Break came & left so quickly. I had a long list of things to do, but only accomplished a little less than half of my lengthy “to-do”s. I did finish cleaning out my closet & reorganizing. Luke made a poster for our Art in the Yard Sale. It is so great! In the next month, I hope to make some earrings, print some photos, & possibly make a stamp & create a stationery set. We’ll see.
so. recap of my Spring Break…
-camping with Luke’s family. I found a beautiful piece of drift wood on the bank.
-quality time with my family in Liberty. We visited an adorable cupcake shop & a small garden shop where I found lavender seeds. They had so many types of bulk herbs & spices. Sadly, I forgot my camera.
-We planted our starts! The sunflowers are already sprouting. I will have so many fresh flowers on the kitchen table. I’m so excited!
-We went to a garage sale & found a cardboard box of old mason jars of various sizes & colors. I cannot wait to fill them up with found objects & wild flowers.
-Luke & I made dinner together almost every night. It was so much fun to set the table, pray together, & eat together.
-We also registered at Target for our wedding. We chose the most beautiful green & cream & blue textiles for linens. I can almost picture our home together 🙂
-Sunday service was what I needed most of all. The message was about anxiety & our struggle for joy in life. {This} is something I know will help me many times.
Well, I hope you all have a lovely Sunday. I must finish cleaning up my bedroom & prepare for the week ahead.
