farmer’s market

Luke & I had a wonderful time at the farmer’s market this morning. We are both so excited for the season to start again so we can enjoy all of the fresh vegetables, flowers, fruits, eggs & honey. Yesterday morning, we purchased three dozen eggs (one for each of our homes & one for Jess), a phlox plant, a strawberry plant, blueberry jam, & a bar of handmade lavender soap for a friend. We felt like we were apart of this beautiful community of farmers & those appreciative of their work. Luke was introduced to so many vegetable farmers because he is looking for work this summer; they’re all just so friendly & welcoming. Be in prayer about him finding work!
On our way home, we stopped by the Root Cellar for spinach (they sold out at the farmer’s market!) & I stopped in Peace Nook for some incense. The honey scent is my favorite.
For the later part of the day, I baked some cookies & did some work in the beds with Jess. Luke & I helped some friends move into their beautiful new home, finished my taxes (finally!), & ate some delicious dinner.
& it’s 9:05- I need to be getting ready for church!
Have a beautiful Sunday!
love,
Natalie

five senses friday!

sight:
-the starts on my window sill; they’re sprouting! I’ve been documenting their growth with my film camera so more pictures are to come. So far, we see little cinnamon basil, tomato, & sunflower (which are huge!) sprouts. I’m so excited for the eggplant, lavender, other basil, & pepper sprouts to start appearing!
-daffodils, tulips, & cherry blossoms blooming everywhere!
-our new apartment on the second floor of a tiny blue house with white trimming
taste:
-a dipped ice cream cone from Dairy Queen
-a delicious ginger & carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting from Uprise Bakery
-delicious salad greens with nuts & raisins
-strawberries found while on our weekly adventure!
-homemade carrot cake for our one year made by my {love}

touch:
-fresh clean linens on my bed
-knitting needles from crafts’ night
-the pages of textbooks from hours of studying
sound:
-Bright Eyes’ older albums
-the zooming of cars & children’s laughter from across the street
smell:
-the newness of spring
-fresh linens & a tidy bedroom
-fresh flowers in our home

Happy Friday! I am so excited for this weekend- clear skies & warmer temperatures. Luke & I plan to rent a movie tonight & relax. On Saturday, I’m looking forward to the farmer’s market, reading “Real Simple”- given to me by Luke, & helping close friends move into their new home.
It will be a good weekend, I’m certain.
love,
