i have this girlfriend who’s the most giving person i know. every time i am in her town & we share coffee together, she always has a little something for me. last week was her birthday & she’s expecting a little one soon. when studio calico contacted me about creating some pretties with their newest card kit, i was just plain giddy. i knew exactly who i wanted to make something for.
when the package arrived with the camelot card kit, my mind began spinning with creative ideas. it was such a surprise to open up this package filled to the brim with papers & accessories in citrus, peaches, yellows & robin’s egg blue.
i am a total newbie to card making & paper stuff in general so i stuck with what i know best – gifts & packaging. i sewed some of my scrap fabric to the bottom of little kraft shipping tags. i then began adding on little pretties from the card kit. those stamps are amazing. with the clear acrylic block, you can create unique stamps. once you’re finished, you just place them back on the adhesive sheet. it’s easy peasy & fun. why have i not ever used these stamps before?! mind blown.
above are the tags i made using card stock, buttons & blue bubbles from the kit. now i have plenty of tags (& tons of supplies leftover!) to decorate little handmade gifts to friends & family.
studio calico was generous enough to offer a card kit to one lucky natalie creates reader!
all you have to do is leave a comment with your email address & how you would use your kit. i will choose a winner this friday, may 2nd.
happy making!
love,
natalie
— giveaway closed! congrats to audra for winning the studio calico giveaway! hooray!
I have been thinking about trying a Studio Calico Kit for a while! I would use it to make some thank you notes for my bridal shower hosts and my bridesmaids.
The tages you made are so cute, and the materials provided by Studio Calico are amazing! I would use the kit to prepare encouraging cards for my clients. I am a social worker and a lot of my clients are facing homelessness. I want to try encouraging them through simple, beautiful gestures such as homemade cards. My email is hncaldwell87@gmail.com
Ah, I'm jealous! I'm a total Studio Calico fan girl. I would probably put them to use to decorate some letters or in my (neglected) Project Life album.
Such a lovely kit! I'm usually terrible at wrapping gifts and including cards, so I would use the kit to make sweet gift tags and cards. Thanks for the giveaway!
Love what you did!!! I love making fun tags when gifting and think prettying up a package is part of the fun of giving prezzies, so I'd definitely make tags, too! Thanks so much!!! Elise athomeelise@yahoo.com
Eeep! I love everything about the kit. I always give away a third of everything I bake and this kit would add that extra something special to my treat deliveries i make to loved ones and neighbors!
wow, this stuff if just yummy 🙂 I will be making hand-made thank you cards for the parents that have helped me with my classroom activities so much this school year, so this is perfect!
So Beautiful!! I would use the kit to make fun goodbye kits for my 12 small group eighth grade girls that I have been shepherding for 3 years at our church. They move on to high school and new leaders;( Thanks for the opportunity! Blessings, Susan Benson mombenson@Comcast.net
